With today's energy costs and environmental issues, many people are looking to build or
renovate using "Green" principles. This can allow for lower energy costs, cleaner
building materials and less harm to our environment. Highlands Construction is proud
to apply these principles wherever
possible and implement them based on our client's priorities and budget.
Matthew Yakovleff is the Construction Manager for Haystack Highlands Construction, LLC.
A longtime member of the construction trades community, Matthew started on a roofing
crew the summer he turned 16 years old. In 2008, Matthew completed the course work necessary
to receive a Certified Green Professional (CGP) Designation from the
NAHB (National Association of Home Builders).
"The Certified Green Professional designation is issued by the NAHB University of Housing,
the educational arm of the association. The designation is part of the NAHB National Green
Building Program, which also includes a green home rating system and scoring tool at
www.nahbgreen.org.
"It’s designed for all home building industry professionals, from builders and remodelers
to real estate agents, designers and marketers, and is open to non-NAHB members as well.
Earning the designation requires taking a 16-hour Green Building for Building
Professionals class, eight hours of business management instruction and a minimum of
two years of industry experience. Designees also must adhere to a prescribed
code of ethics.
